Ouija Board Opening & Closing Prayers Of Protection

The best way to safely hold a Ouija board session is to be sure that everyone involved is mature, respectful, and seeks only enlightenment and goodness. Positive vibes are a necessity. Being sure to properly close the board is also critical. We've said this before, but it's always important to move the planchette to “goodbye” and to thank the spirits when ending a session. NEVER, just stand up and walk away leaving the pointer on the board.

If the Ouija board is not properly closed, there's a chance that whatever you've contacted will remain with the board. Leaving the planchette on the board unattended grants the spirit or entity the possibility of manifesting itself physically. Always close the board by moving the pointer to “goodbye,” flip it, and then place the pointer in another part of the room when you're finished. If you choose not to say a closing prayer, at the very least thank the spirits for their time.

The matter of Ouija opening and closing prayers is one of personal preference. Some people choose to use them, others not. It's totally up to you. Our philosophy is that it sure doesn't hurt, and it may make those that are nervous feel a bit more comfortable. Again, positive, mellow vibes are conducive to having a fun session. Burning incense can be both calming and help people get into the mood. Sage is a good choice because it's thought to help prevent curses.

Here are a few suggestions for opening prayers of protection. Feel free to customize and make them your own. The first prayer is one that we created and use regularly.

Opening Prayer Of Protection

In the name of Jesus Christ, we ask for protection from evil. Let nothing but light, goodness, and love surround us this day. Let only the blessed powers and spirits of light and heaven enter this place. Holy spirit, we ask that you surround us with the brilliant light of your loving embrace, protecting us from malice and deception. In the name of Jesus Christ we banish all negative energy, evil spirits, and dark entities from this place.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind.   Amen.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you arewith me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.   Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.   Amen.

Closing Prayers For Ouija Boards

Ouija closing prayers are done after moving the planchette to goodbye and removing it from the board. Closing prayers can help add a final sense of closure to the session and insure that only positive energy remains in the area. You can use the prayer below, or create your own. After you've said the prayer and thanked the spirits for their time, we always recommend flipping the board and leaving it alone in the room for awhile, thus giving any energy there time to dissipate.

Closing Prayer Of Protection

Spirits of light, we appreciate and thank you for your time and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ we command all spirits, energy, and entities in this place to return from whence they came. We ask that the Holy Spirit watch over this place and the people in it, cleansing this home with holy light, keeping evil at bay. In Jesus's name we pray.    Amen.
